President’s Message
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
In October 2024 the Greely & District Legion, Branch 627 celebrated 50 years of operation. We were happy to present 50 year medals to four of our members and one member received a 60 year pin. Many Branch members and their guests attended our celebration.
Our Branch is very active with the Poppy Campaign and we are pleased to be able to help our veterans and award bursaries to deserving students.
We currently have approximately 90 members. Some of these are seniors and some live out of the area but we are fortunate to have about 20 members who we can count on for various functions.
The weekly Euchre games and monthly tournaments are well attended. Music and Dancing liven up the Lounge on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month with good attendance. We are also very fortunate to have the Ottawa Patriot Baseball Association renting our large hall from mid-December to mid-April and the numerous other hall rentals allow us to keep our doors open.
If you wish to become a member or get more involved with our Branch, please reach out to a member of our Executive or leave a message on the Legion answering machine (613-822-1451).
In Comradeship
Linda Wyman
President
